UNSW Canberra City Campus Masterplan

The new campus sits in a prominent position along Constitution Avenue, one of the three edges of the National Triangle in Canberra.

Its design seeks to create a welcoming and inclusive public realm both at the external interfaces to the city and within internal campus areas. The campus has a clear hierarchy of open spaces and streets, from formalised Greens at the heart of each of the two precincts, to intimate forested edges when students and lecturers can escape from the crowds.

In order to combat the extreme weather that Canberra offers and provide a softer campus environment the design seeks to maximise canopy coverage and softscape areas.
