Coonara is a new residential development set within an old-growth Blue Gum High Forest to the north west of Sydney.

The masterplan utilises a network of green links, with terraced parks capturing and treating storm-water below their surfaces and providing open glades for residents to enjoy. Cranking pathways navigate the steep terrain, creating a network of intimate connections below the dense canopy of trees. Views of the surrounding forest are framed and celebrated through a number of lookout points.

Intricate coordination between civil, architecture and landscape design is required to create a fully immersive forest experience while providing cutting-edge infrastructure for the urban neighbourhood.
